Free Website Design Tools - for Mac and PC
Metal Beach would love to build your website for you. However, if you'd like to attempt it yourself, or if you want to make updates or work on your SEO, then here are some free web design tools that allow you edit your website yourself.
Kompozer - Free Website Design Software
Kompozer is free web design software that allows you to edit from the design side or from the coding side. It's also a great tool to use if you've had someone else build the site and just want to make some updates. Of all the tools I've tried, this one is the most straight-forward and cleanest. It's also available for both Windows and Mac.
The only limitation with Kompozer is that while you can create templates to use, you can't update templates and then have the entire site update from the template. In other words, once you create a page from the template, you have to update each page individually.

Kompozer User Guide
It helps to have a manual for any software, and there's an online Wiki that can help with Kompozer.

Free FTP Tool - FileZilla
After you update your website, you'll need to upload the changes to your server. The best way to do this is with FTP - and if you're using Kompozer, you can do this from within the program (see the Kompozer user guide on how to publish your site).
However, if you want to upload or download files from your website server, you can use an FTP program that allows you to exchange files back and forth directly.
One of the easiest programs I've used is Filezilla - and it's free!
